Acting Vice Chancellor Opens Certification Training for Financial Education Service Providers

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026 The Acting Vice Chancellor of Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU), Prof. John Safari, has officially inaugurated a special certification training programme for Financial Education Service Providers. The training is coordinated by the University through the Department of Accounting and Finance in collaboration with the Bank of Tanzania (BoT).

Speaking prior to the official opening, Prof. Safari expressed appreciation to BoT for its efforts in ensuring that financial education service providers are given the opportunity to enhance their professional competencies. He emphasized that knowledge and innovation remain essential drivers for effective performance within institutions.

Prof. Safari further noted that both individual and national economic development are significantly influenced by financial literacy, particularly in areas such as saving, investing, and identifying productive opportunities. He encouraged participants to fully utilize the ten-day training programme to acquire practical skills that will benefit their respective institutions and communities.

The training, which is being conducted at the Main Campus in Moshi, has brought together twenty participants who will undergo certification as qualified Financial Education Service Providers, further strengthening financial literacy initiatives in Tanzania.
