Timotheo Mwakijungu serves as an Assistant Lecturer in the Microfinance and Banking Department at Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU). He holds a Master’s of Business Administration in Banking Finance from College of Business Education (CBE) Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from University of Dodoma. His academic training has equipped him with a solid foundation in financial theory, quantitative analysis and applied research in banking and financial systems. He is actively engaged in teaching, research and academic mentorship, with a strong commitment to fostering intellectual growth and practical competence among students. He participates in research and consultancy initiatives addressing financial sector challenges, particularly in emerging and developing economies, with a focus on improving financial performance, institutional effectiveness, and access to financial services.

Timotheo’s research interests include Microfinances, Banking Stability and Regulation, Financial Inclusion, Digital Financial Services (FinTech), Risk Management, Investment and Portfolio Management, and Financial Markets Development. He is particularly interested in examining the interplay between financial innovation, regulatory frameworks, and economic development, with an emphasis on how inclusive financial systems can drive sustainable growth and resilience in underserved communities.
