It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Accounting and Finance at Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU). Our department is dedicated to fostering a dynamic learning environment where students can explore the intricacies of accounting and finance and prepare for successful careers in these fields. Whether you are a new student just beginning your academic journey or a returning student eager to delve deeper into research and advanced topics in accounting and finance, our committed staff are here to guide and support you.
At MoCU, we offer a range of of comprehensive programmes designed to meet the diverse needs of our students. Programmes offered in our department are: Certificate of Accounting and Finance (CAF), Bachelor of Accounting and Finance (BAF), Bachelor of Accounting and Taxation (BAT) and Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting and Finance (PGD-AF). These programmes are crafted to provide a strong foundation in accounting, finance and taxation principles while promoting critial thinking, ethical reasoning, and effective communication skills. I am pleased to highlight that, our students are exposed to co-operative education. This practical aspect of our programmes equips students with hands-on experience that is invaluable in the successful operation of Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies (SACCOS), Agricultural Marketing Cooperatives (AMCOS), and various other cooperative organizations
I am proud to share that our graduates seeking to attempt Association of Chartered and Certifiend Accountants (ACCA) and Certified Public Accountants (CPA) examinations, hold a unique advantage. Upon completion of our programmes, they are exempted from the foundation level examinations in both ACCA and CPA (T) qualifications. This exemption speaks to the high caliber of education and preparation that our programmes provide, positioning our graduates for success in their future careers.
In addition to our commitment to delivering a comprehensive education, our department is dedicated to fostering a culture of research and innovation. We believe that research is a cornerstone of academic excellence and contributes significantly to the advancement of knowledge in the field of accounting and finance.
