On Thursday, February 26, 2026 Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) have continued to strengthen their long-standing collaboration of more than 15 years through the donation of accounting education books and learning resources.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic, Research and Consultancy, Prof. John Safari, expressed sincere appreciation to ACCA for its continued support to higher learning institutions through the provision of academic books and learning materials. He noted that no education system can be strong without competent lecturers and adequate learning resources, emphasizing that the donated books are a valuable contribution to teaching and learning, particularly for students of accounting and finance.
Prof. Safari further encouraged students to make effective use of the books provided and called upon academic staff to guide learners by aligning their teaching with the contents of the donated materials, which are consistent with current professional requirements in the accounting field.
On his part, the ACCA Country Director, Mr. Jenard Lazaro, reaffirmed ACCA’s commitment to continued collaboration with MoCU in advancing the accounting profession in Tanzania. He explained that the partnership, which has spanned over 15 years, focuses on capacity building for academics, improving access to professional learning resources, and motivating students to attain international standards in accounting.
Mr. Lazaro added that the donation reflects ACCA’s commitment to ensuring students access appropriate tools that support their professional growth, ethical practice, and competence, thereby strengthening accountability in financial management and contributing to Tanzania’s economic development.
