MoCU Concludes the 5th International Conference on Co-operative Law

On Friday, February 13, 2026 The Director of Research and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. George Matto, officially closed the 5th International Conference on Co-operative Law, which was held for two days at the Main Campus in Moshi.

Dr. Matto presided over the closing ceremony on behalf of the Deputy Vice Chancellor – Academic, Research and Consultancy. In his closing remarks, he expressed sincere appreciation to the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA) Law Committee and Ius Cooperativum (International Association of Co-operative Law Scholars) for their collaboration and contribution to the successful organisation of the conference.

He reaffirmed MoCU’s readiness to host similar international forums in the future, emphasizing the importance of such platforms in advancing the global co-operative agenda.

“We are always ready to host such platforms as they bring us together to advance the co-operative agenda. In this regard, I also invite you to participate in the upcoming joint conference between MoCU and The Co-operative University of Kenya (CUK), scheduled for September 2026,” Dr. Matto added.

The two-day conference brought together scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from different countries to deliberate on strengthening co-operative legal frameworks in support of sustainable development.
