On December 16, 2025, The Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU), led by Dr. Esther Towo, has provided training on the establishment and management of sustainable co-operative societies to women from the villages of Irkujit, Langai, Narakauo, and Loiborsiret in Simanjiro District, Manyara Region.
The primary objective of the initiative is to enhance food security and improve the economic and social well-being of women through effective participation in co-operative enterprises.
The activity is implemented under the Regional Co-operative Development Project (REGCOOP), funded by NORAD through Norges Vel Tanzania, and carried out in collaboration with the Office of the Assistant Registrar of Co-operatives – Manyara Region and the Simanjiro District Co-operative Officer.
Prior to the commencement of the training, the project team paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Executive Director of Simanjiro District Council to present the project work plan and discuss implementation modalities.
