On June 13, 2025, Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) hosted the official launch of a strategic initiative to establish a unified regional gender desk network for universities and colleges in the Kilimanjaro region.

The event was officiated by Dr. Cyril Komba, a lecturer at MoCU and National Gender Desk Facilitator, and brought together key stakeholders in gender advocacy and education.

The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women, and Special Groups in collaboration with MoCU, aiming to promote coordinated efforts in advancing gender equality and addressing gender-based challenges in higher education institutions.
