On May 1, 2025, staff from Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) participated in the International Labour Day celebrations alongside employees from various institutions across the Kilimanjaro region.

The event took place at Ushirika Sports Ground and was officiated by the Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner, Hon. Nurdin Babu, who served as the guest of honour.

The celebrations were held under the national theme:
“The 2025 General Election Should Bring Us Leaders Who Respect Workers’ Rights and Welfare – Let Us All Participate.”

This gathering highlighted the importance of solidarity among workers, and emphasized the need for leadership that upholds justice and protects the rights and interests of the workforce.
