Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Data Science program is designed to equip students with the skills to turn data into actionable insights. Through a blend of statistical methods, computational tools, and hands-on experience with real-world data.

Specific Objectives

The specific objectives are to:

• Enable students appreciate the role of Data science in social and economic development.
• Develop an ability to effectively visualize data and communicate their findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Prepare students become experts in data science to address real-world business problems and make strategic decisions.
• Enable students effectively apply machine learning techniques and algorithms, enabling them to build predictive models and make data-driven decisions.
• Develop an ability to work with big data technologies for handling organizations large-scale datasets.

General Entry Requirements

• Two principal passes in Advanced Mathematics AND any of the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Economics and Computer Science, the sum of which should not be less than 4.0 points.
• Equivalent qualifications, such as a recognized diploma in IT-related fields and a pass in Basic Mathematics at O’level are also accepted
