On October 28, 2025, during the official opening night of the SACCA Congress 2025, Tanzania officially received the flag to host the SACCA Congress 2026.

Prof. Alfred Sife, Vice Chancellor of the Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU), received the flag on behalf of the Minister for Agriculture, Hon. Hussein Bashe, from Hon. Dr. Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, Minister for Employment and Labour Relations of Ghana. Prof. Sife was accompanied by Dr. Benson Ndiege, the Registrar of Co-operative Societies.

The flag handover marks the beginning of preparations for the SACCA Congress 2026, a major international event that will bring together stakeholders of Savings and Credit Co-operative Societies (SACCOS) from across Africa and beyond.

The upcoming Congress will be hosted by SCCULT (1992) Ltd in collaboration with the Government of Tanzania, co-operative stakeholders, and partner institutions. It is scheduled to take place from October 18–24, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

This milestone signifies Tanzania’s growing leadership and commitment to advancing the co-operative movement regionally and globally.
