On Thursday, March 05, 2026 As part of activities leading to the celebration of International Women’s Day, observed annually on 8 March, women from Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) joined other women from across the Kilimanjaro Region in commemorating the occasion at the Moshi Municipal Grounds.
The event, held on 5 March 2026, was officiated by the Moshi Municipal Director, Ms. Mwajuma Nasombe, who served as the Guest of Honour. This year’s theme was “Women and Girls: The Foundation for Inclusive Development towards Vision 2050.”
Speaking during the event, Ms. Nasombe emphasized the importance of empowering women and girls to actively participate in the social and economic development of their communities and the nation at large.
MoCU continues to contribute to community development by providing training to various women’s groups and raising awareness on co-operative development as part of its commitment to empowering communities.
