World Bank Team Visits MoCU to Assess Environmental and Social Compliance under HEET Project

On Friday, March 06, 2026 A team of Environmental and Social Specialists from the World Bank visited Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) to conduct an assessment of environmental and social compliance in the implementation of activities under the Higher Education for Economic Transformation (HEET) Project.

The delegation, which visited the University’s Main Campus in Moshi, also included officials from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. During the visit, the team held discussions with the University Management and the institutional HEET Project Coordination Team, reviewed key project documents, and toured the ICT Academic Building constructed with support from the HEET Project.

The HEET Project is implemented by the Government of Tanzania through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and financed by the World Bank. The initiative focuses on improving teaching and learning environments in higher education institutions to support the development of a modern, knowledge-based economy.
