Description:
On Sunday, May 31, 2026 Students from the Executive MBA Programme of York University, Canada, presented the findings of research conducted following field visits to various co-operative societies in the Kilimanjaro Region.
The presentations aimed to provide practical recommendations for enhancing the performance, management, and sustainability of the co-operative societies visited during the study programme.
Through their engagements with the co-operatives, the students gained first-hand insights into operational practices, governance structures, and business activities, while also identifying key challenges and opportunities for improvement.
The exercise forms part of the ongoing collaboration between Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) and York University, which seeks to promote experiential learning, applied research, and international academic exchange. Through this initiative, students are able to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world contexts while contributing valuable perspectives to co-operative development.
