The Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) Risk Management Committee, led by its Chairperson and Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Alfred Sife, held its meeting to evaluate the implementation of the Risk Register for the fourth quarter of the 2025/2026 Financial Year.
During the meeting, the committee received and discussed reports regarding the progress of various risk mitigation strategies implemented at the university. This aims to strengthen institutional resilience and ensure the University achieves its strategic goals.
Among other things, the committee members assessed the progress made in managing the risks identified in the register for the respective year and expressed satisfaction with the execution of the strategies established to minimize potential impacts on university operations.
Furthermore, the committee approved the proposed Risk Register for the 2026/2027 Financial Year, which will guide the process of identifying, assessing, and managing risks in the upcoming period.
Presenting the register to the committee, the Risk Management Coordinator of Moshi Co-operative University, Dr. Kelvin Nzilano, stated that for the 2026/2027 Financial Year, the University is prepared to deploy the electronic government risk management system known as the Government Enterprise Risk Management Information System (GERMIS).
He explained that the system will be utilized to identify, assess, monitor, and report on risk management more efficiently. He added that the adoption of GERMIS is part of the government’s commitment to strengthening the resilience of public institutions in mitigating various risks and ensuring they achieve their objectives effectively.
