Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) today, 7 October 2026, held its 54th Meeting of Deans and Directors, chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Alfred S. Sife.

The meeting brought together Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments, and Heads of various Academic and Administrative Units. It focused on reviewing the University’s preparedness and strengthening strategies for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, with particular emphasis on the reception and orientation of newly admitted first-year students.

During the meeting, University leaders discussed key measures to ensure that academic programmes, infrastructure, student support services, and other essential facilities are adequately prepared for the commencement of the new academic year. The preparations are aimed at creating a conducive learning environment and ensuring efficient and effective service delivery to students.

The meeting also discussed appropriate strategies for mitigating the potential impacts of El Niño-related rainfall. These measures are intended to safeguard the continuity of academic and administrative activities and ensure uninterrupted service delivery despite possible challenges associated with adverse weather conditions.

Through these preparations, MoCU continues to strengthen its institutional readiness to welcome new students and provide a supportive, safe, and conducive environment for teaching, learning, and other academic activities throughout the 2026/2027 Academic Year.
