MOCU EMPOWERS UKOMBOZI SACCOS TO STRENGTHEN ITS OPERATIONS

The Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) Ruvuma Regional Office provided training to 127 members of Ukombozi (Songea Diocese) SACCOS during the Cooperative’s 23rd Annual General Meeting.

The training brought together members from the four groups and four institutions that make up Ukombozi SACCOS. It aimed to strengthen their understanding of their roles and responsibilities in building a strong, transparent, accountable, and sustainable SACCOS.

The training covered the SACCOS’s development journey, its current status, and its future direction. It also highlighted the importance of strengthening membership, increasing savings, using loans for productive purposes, and repaying loans on time.

Members were reminded that savings are the foundation of the SACCOS’s financial stability, while loans serve as a tool for expanding economic activities and promoting development. Timely loan repayment was emphasized as essential for maintaining the Cooperative’s ability to continue providing services to its members.

Members were further encouraged to uphold integrity, accountability, and financial discipline while actively participating in the Cooperative’s decision-making processes. The training emphasized that the success and sustainability of a SACCOS depend on the cooperation, commitment, and trust of its members.
