Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU), through its Internationalization and Partnership Office (IPO), hosted a German delegation and their long-standing partners in Tanzania from Arusha Chini Chemchem Uhusiano. The delegation was led by Mr. Uwe Grossmann, Chairman from Hanover Marienwerder, while the Tanzanian team was led by Adv. David Shilatu, Chairperson of International Relations, Arusha Chini Chemchem Uhusiano. The visit focused on exchanging experiences on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education and learning from MoCU’s initiatives in digital transformation.

Representing the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic, Research and Consultancy Services), Prof. George Matto welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed MoCU’s commitment to international collaboration, innovation, and digital transformation in higher education. The discussions, facilitated by Opportunity Education Tanzania (OET) and Dr. Shadrack Stephen Madila, Head of the ICT Department at MoCU, focused on Design Thinking, the opportunities and challenges of AI in education, and the importance of AI literacy, ethical use, and institutional readiness while ensuring that AI complements rather than replaces human expertise.

The engagement reflects MoCU’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships, advancing digital innovation, and preparing students and staff to thrive in an increasingly technology-driven and interconnected world.
