Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU), through its Kigoma Regional Office, has provided cooperative education to farmers in the region as part of its efforts to empower them to identify opportunities available through the cooperative system and strengthen their economic activities.
The training was conducted from 3rd to 4th November 2026 at the MoCU Kigoma Regional Office Hall, in collaboration with the Kigoma Municipal Agriculture Office and Caritas Kigoma Diocese through the Voices Project. The training aimed to enhance farmers’ knowledge and understanding of good agricultural practices, proper fertilizer use, and environmental conservation.
During the training, MoCU experts educated farmers on the meaning of cooperatives, various types of cooperative societies, as well as the economic and development opportunities available through the cooperative movement. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about the various academic programmes offered by the University.
