Welcome to the Mtwara Regional Office of the Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU). Mtwara Region is among the 13 regional offices of MoCU which started its operations in 1968. It serves 2 regions of Lindi and Mtwara with total of 16 District Councils. The Office is located at Rahaleo Area, Shapriya Street along Ushirika Road in Mtwara Mikindani Municipal. The key activities undertaken by the Mtwara Regional Office include training and undertaking consultancy, research projects and community services. It also offers distance learning and correspondence programmes for co-operative stakeholders and organizes courses based on MoCU areas of competencies. The Office works with various stakeholders in co-operatives, public and private sectors.

The key areas of competencies include but not limited to Formation of co-operatives and economic groups; Co-operative management and governance; Participatory development planning; Gender and Youth in development; Project management; Preparing business and strategic plans; Innovation management; Impact evaluation; Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (MEL); Co-operative accounting and finance; Entrepreneurship & small business management; Research methodology; Organizational capacity assessment (OCA); TNA; Human resource management; E-resources management; Performance assessment of farmers’ organizations; Stakeholders’ mapping and analysis; Value chain mapping and analysis; Co-operative marketing; Farmers profiling and financial literacy; Food systems approach (FSA) and Sustainable investments in agriculture.
