The Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Adolf Mkenda, has emphasized that educational reforms in the country must be aligned with the goals of Vision 2050 and the Education and Training Policy of 2014 (2023 Edition), to ensure the education system continues to match the nation’s development needs.

Prof. Mkenda made this emphasis on July 14, 2026, in Dodoma, during a meeting with the Committee of Vice-Chancellors and Principals of Public University Colleges (CVCPUT) to discuss various issues concerning the management of these universities.

During the meeting, he urged university leaders to continue developing and implementing curricula that provide skills meeting the demands of all key economic and social sectors. He also stressed the importance of investing in science and technology to keep pace with global development.

In addition, Prof. Mkenda stated that the Government understands the challenges and needs of universities in the country and is continuing with various efforts to build and strengthen the capacity of these institutions to execute their mandates.

The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Carolyne Nombo, along with the entire Management of the Ministry.

CVCPUT is led by its Chairman, Prof. Alfred Sife, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of Moshi Co-operative University.
