Description:
On Friday, May 29, 2026 Students from the Executive MBA Programme of York University, Canada, have undertaken a field-based learning experience through visits to various co-operative societies in the Kilimanjaro Region.

The students visited several co-operatives, including the Nronga Women Dairy Co-operative Society, Lyamungo Dairy Co-operative Society, Uru Mawela AMCOS, Uru Dairy Co-operative Society, and the Mwika Farmers’ Co-operative Society. The visits provided participants with practical exposure to co-operative governance, business operations, value addition, and community-based economic development initiatives.

The programme forms part of the ongoing academic collaboration between Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) and York University, aimed at enhancing experiential learning and fostering international academic engagement.

The delegation was accompanied by two academic staff members from York University, who joined the students in exploring the role of co-operatives in promoting sustainable livelihoods and local economic development.
