Dr. Victor Emilian Shirima is a Senior Lecturer at Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU). He teaches, researches, and provides consultancy services in accounting, finance, and cooperation fields. Dr. Shirima holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Performance Management from MoCU (2021), a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Dar es Salaam Business School (UDBS) (2013), and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) (2008). He also holds CPA (T) (2011) and Professional Certificate in SACCOS Management (PC-SACCOS) (2015). Dr. Shirima has been involved in various research and consultancy activities such as: Principal Investigator; Research Award Grant on Strategic research titled “Members Commitment and Co-operative Performance in Tanzania”- Awarded and funded by Moshi Co-operative University; Research on Performance Measurement System in the Agricultural Marketing Co-operative Societies in Rombo; Consultant: Provision of consultancy services to end of programme evaluation Kisongo Makuyuni area programme (FY 2020 –2023) – Funded by World Vision Tanzania; Consultant; Outcome survey for income and employment for women and youth (IEWY) in dairy sector in Hai and Siha – Kilimanjaro – SNV; Consultancy service to undertake final programme evaluation for women economic empowerment for justice in Tanzania- KWIECO; Consultant: Business Capacity Need Assessment at Karagwe District Co-operative Union, Funded by Lutheran World Relief, KAGERA; Consultant: Capacity building for board members Ngage SACCOS – Funded by World Vision, Simanjiro; Consultant: MALI project-Membership Mobilization- Arusha Meru Women SACCOS. Dr. Shirima has published papers in Cogent Business & Management, Journal of Co-operative and Business Studies (JCBS), East African Journal of Social and Applied Sciences (EAJ-SAS), ORSEA Journal, International Journal of Business and Management, and Moshi Cooperative University Working paper. He served as Regional Programme Coordinator from 2014 to 20. Dr. Shirima served as Regional Programme coordinator from 2014 to 2018. He also served as a coordinator of Professional Financial Co-operative Management Programmes (PFCMP) under the Distance Education Department from 2021 to January 2023.  Currently Dr. Shirima serves as Head, Department of Distance Education under the Institute of Continuing Co-operative Education (ICCE) of the Moshi Co-operative University.
