Bongiwe Gcinile Xaba, A Lecturer and Course Coordinator at the Eswatini Co-operative Development College (ECODEC). She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in SACCOS Management (PGD-SACCOS) from MoCU (2017), a Master of Science in Agriculture and Applied Economics obtained from the University of Eswatini (2012), a Bachelor Degree in Agriculture Education from the University of Eswatini (2000). She is a confident, adaptable and motivated educator with 22 years experience of in delivering subject matter on common core programmes. She teaches Statistics, Business Mathematics and Economics to students in a full-time mode. She is also adept in instilling knowledge and skills to stakeholders (co-operative society employees, board members and members, in-school and out-of-school youth, women and the public at large) on Co-operative Philosophy, Policy Development and such topics as they relate to co-operatives. She authored and published three papers in the African Journal of Agriculture Research and Journal of Sustainable Agriculture Research. In 2021, she was appointed the Programme Coordinator for the Professional Financial Cooperative Programme (PFCMP), a programme the ECODEC offers in collaboration with MoCU.

The Department collaborates with local and international institutions in running distance learning programmes. The Department collaborates with the Tanzania Co-operative Development Commission (TCDC), Savings and Credit Co-Operative Union League of Tanzania (SCCULT), Uganda Co-operative Alliance (UCA) and Eswatini Co-operative Development College (ECODEC). For example, in 2010, MUCCOBS signed five years Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Uganda Co-operative Alliance (UCA) to extend PFCMP to Uganda. However, due to the declining number of students, the programme ceased in December 2015, having trained 485 graduates in Uganda. In 2020, MoCU signed five years MoU with Eswatini Co-operative Development College (ECODEC) to extend PFCMP in Eswatini. In its first year of operation for the academic year 2021/22, PFCMP registered 22 students (8 PGD and 14 (PC).
