Membership

Types of Membership

  1. Internal members. These include all MoCU staff and registered students.
  2. External members can be:
  • Council members of the University;
  • Higher education institutional members such as research staff and enrolled Masters and Doctoral students from other libraries in higher education institutions in Tanzania, who produce an introductory letter and identity card from their institutions;
  • Guest lecturers, visiting research staff, post-doctoral fellows, professors, professor emeritus and lecturers who are not permanent members of staff of the University, but who under exchange programs, deliver lectures on invitation, or hold doctoral fellowships, or are appointed as Professors Emeritus at the University;
  • Honorary members such as individuals who have been previously employed staff members of the University and on whom honorary membership has been conferred at the discretion of the Director of Directorate of Library Services;
  • Private members such individualswho are members of the library in a private or personal capacity at the discretion of the Director of Directorate of Library Services; and
  • Exchange students. These are students from other academic and research institutions attached to the University under an exchange program.

NB: All external members shall pay a service charge
