Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)

Overview

This is a three (3) years programme designed to equip undergraduate candidates to deal with complex legal issues in the national and international competitive labour markets. Graduates in this programme will be able to practice different legal functions. The programme provides thorough basic training in law to prepare graduates who can honestly participate in  the administration of justice. Through the programme theoretical and practical principles and legal skills are developed including critical thinking skills, legal research skills, analytical skills, counseling skills, advocacy skills, record keeping skills, negotiation skills, drafting skills and      procedural skills.

To enrol to this programme, applicants shall possess requisite entry requirements. For direct entry the programme enrols applicants from NQF Level 5 (Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education) with at least two principal passes in Geography, History, Kiswahili, English Language, French and Economics. For equivalent entry the programme accepts Diploma in Law and related fields recognized by the University Senate with GPA not less than lower second or a Certificate in Law passed with distinction, and with at least four passes at Ordinary level (NQF Level 4) including English Language and History.
